FRAN OVERALL, LMT

Picture
Fran graduated from Cumberland Institute Holistic Massage School and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in Tennessee in 2012. Prior to massage, she obtained a MA in Clinical Psychology and a BS in Recording Industry Management. She has retired her licenses as Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and Chiropractic Therapeutic Assistant in Tennessee. She has chosen a variety of careers that help people – from experiencing the positive effect of music to making lifestyle changes.

There are many different reasons to get a massage. Sometimes you just want to relax, turn off your busy mind, let go of stress and tension, get in touch with your body, and connect at a deeper level. Other times, there are specific physical or emotional pain, headaches, areas with restricted range of motion, and things that get in the way of enjoying your life, and you come to massage for help. Whatever your needs, Fran will individualize the massage to you.

Fran’s passion is John Barnes Myofascial Release! She has taken over 10 courses from John Barnes, and recently worked directly with him in Skills Enhancement Sessions at his treatment center in Sedona, AZ. Other massage modalities she can integrate into sessions are Cranio Sacral Therapy, Reiki, Reiki with SomaEnergetics Solfeggio Tuning Forks, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Shiatsu Acupressure, Lymphatic Drainage for head and neck, and specific muscular stretching. Fran loves to learn and will be including LaStone Therapy with Crystals from LaStone founder Mary Nelson, Polarity, and Pet Massage in her next continuing education.

Her work has a base of relaxing Swedish massage, and integrates elements of Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, fascial release, Acupressure, Cranio-Sacral Therapy and gentle stretching.  She is a certified Practitioner in Lymphatic Drainage Technique, a modality that helps move fluid through the body in order to reduce swelling and inflammation, and to support the immune system.
